Project goals & Objectives

After some kick-off meetings and workshops, I've aligned with my client and defined the next steps that we must achieve. I've structured all my data and prepared for the next step, making a design audit of the entire website.

Fresh new look

The goal was to bring a fresh new design that will look more appealing

Design audit

Identifying issues that have a critical impact on the user

Improve user experience

Provide solutions for all the issues that were discovered

Design audit

The first step was to perform a design audit to identify all the possible issues and put them on a severity scale to have a better overview and to be able to prioritize what is most important. I’ve listed some of the most important below.

Filters

  • Some sections of the filters are too long and make the "scroll" feel awkward.
  • There was no possibility to close the filter area except by scrolling back every time.
  • The filters are a bit cramped, and the chances of checking something wrong are very high.
  • The filters were closing every time you checked something, which can be annoying for the user.

Cart & checkout

Customer experience

  • The impossibility to check your order details if you placed an order without an account
  • Failure to display the estimated delivery time
  • The checkout process begins directly when you enter my cart, in which there are 2 pages combined in a single one ( my cart & checkout) that contains a lot of overwhelming information.

Visual

  • Color inconsistency and a clear visual hierarchy were missing
  • Multiple types of buttons that will create confusion
  • Font sizes, spacing, and alignments were off, and everything looked very crowded, which I think can drive the user off

Improvements

Besides the visual part, I’ve focused on some key elements that where very important for a user experience point and were present in current design
